I am always scared by customized vehicles - subframes, headers, different engines, suspensions, etc... With all those modifications (done by other people), it's harder to figure out what you need when something isn't working right. There is also a question of how good the Previos owner/builder was. If you don't know the telltale signs of shady work, you could end up buying a real headache.
With a stock truck, you know alot by simply having a manual.
