That would be about it, unfortunately. I think I remember it might be on a second place on the frame, but I'm not 100% sure. It seems to me like I saw it on a '63 on the side of the left frame rail about halfway back and then again further forward on top of the left frame rail, where you mention. It may not hurt to check it again anyway.
