I’m having a bit of a time lining things up when I put the radiator in my 39. The piece that goes across the top of the radiator support (radiator support rods attach to this) doesn’t fit correctly. The radiator sticks up about ¼” to far keeping it from fitting correctly. It appears that the radiator is just setting up to high and it would be easy to elongate the mounting holes a bit to drop it down. I’m hesitant about starting to hack away before I’ve investigated all possibilities. I’ve looked at two 39s.(including mine) In both, the radiator was bolted to the front of the radiator support bracket instead of the back and in both there appears to have already been some creative cutting and bending to get things together. Is this alignment problem common? Did this radiator fit a variety of years and models with possible slight differences? Is it time to be creative?
