You own a piece of history and turning it into something it's not in wrong IMHO. If you're wanting a street rod put a glass body on a modern chassis. You'll end up spending less money and have a more road worthy vehicle when you're done. While I have made a couple of bolt-on (easily changed back) concessions to modern convenience, part of the joy to me of owning my 38 is driving her the way she was born, warts and all.
