A puller would be the easiest way to get the pitman arm off.
I actually think you could heat it and bend it on the rig if you wanted to. The pitman arm is forged steel, if you broke it driving it off you need to join the League of Superheroes.
I would remove the arm and move the box. I would stick the arm back on after moving and see if you truly need to bend it.
This side to side issue isn't a critical dimensions in the world of steering geometry.
If you do heat it and bend it, be sure to let it cool by itself..don't dump it in the water trough.
