Yes. I was able to get a 10" S&B cotton gauze reusable top-breather filter to fit perfectly right over the top of the oil bath housing...the part that attaches to the carb. The rest of it I took off.
Works great. Try it.
S&B is a cheaper alternative to the K&N filter, but perhaps K&N makes one too.
