the TF trucks didn't have rad shrouds when they came w/ factory V8's - the rad support was mounted further back - just enuff [about 4"] to put the rad the proper distance from the fan [about1/2"] - if you're puttin a V8 in a 6cyl truck you just hafta find a shroud that'll do the job, and it IS necessary to avoid overheating at idle
look for something from 60's, 70's full size GM sedan, which can be adapted, or make yer own!
