| | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | 1940 was the first year in trucks to use a Hypoid rear end. Patrick's gear set is a Hypoid design and will only work in 40-54 diffs.
FYI, Hypoid means the pinion makes contact below the center line of the ring gear.
