Hello all...I finally got around to posting this question. I have a 52 chevy half ton pickup with a 216 (block cast # 3835794). My problem here is that I am not certain that the dipstick and tube are correct. I have been running the vehicle and it is not burning up, or blowing the blues, but I have a feeling the oil dipstick and filler tube were swapped out because they are very sloppy.

I purchased a 216 dipstick online and it appears to match the ones that I remember in that they had a grid between the "Low and Full" line and they were also a round tube rather than a flat blade.

The currect dipstick I have is 15 inches long from tip of dipstick to the top of the dipstick tube metal stopper. The stick also reads "Add Oil - Full" and is a flat blade. The tube that is in place is sloppy and is 6 and 11/16 long.

The one that I think is for the 216 is a round tube and is 17" from the bottom of the dipstick to the top of the dipstick stopper cap. This dipstick reads "Low - Full" and has a grid for the safe level between "Low and full".

If anyone out there can provide any help here it would be very much appreciated. And, or better yet, if anyone has a spare dipstick/filler tube for a 216 I would be very interested in purchasing it.
