This is an awesome article that MARTINSR SUBMITTED AND I agree that it should be a tech tip. I used this info myself when I was fixing my badly worned hinges. For those bolters who would like to rebuild a sloppy elongated hinge hole before installing new pins. See the attached photo.
Just need to install a brass rod in the center, weld & fill in around it, grind flush, center drill on drill press. Weld will not stick to the rod. Also if the tin plate on the face of the hinge is thin or damaged you can easily make them. Check out the tech tip on how to make them.
