Projects done finally. thanks to all of you for answering all my questions.
heres the last issue.
56 235 6 cyl. the issue I have questions on is the connections to the carb and gas pedal.
I followed the book, looked through the forums all looks ok on my end. i dont have much gas pedal travel (maybe 2" total), choke seems ok. but I am not getting any gas, none appears in the clear glass gas filter. engine starts w/ starting spray, but dies right away.
all was fine before I swapped out the existing linkage because i had the wrong one on.
all is re-attached.
I have the gas pedal ok, the rod behind it comes through the firewall and ends up at the holder at the engine. another rod leaves the other end of the holder and goes straight up to the back of the carb.
I have a choke cable going to the back of the carb to the holder attaching to the block and screw the book shows. choke seems to work mechanically ok, but w/ no fuel.
I have a cable that looks like the choke cable at the dash. it comes through the firewall and ends up on the back top of the carb, on the same casing hook that holds the choke cable. it then goes straight down to the gas linkage cable and hooks to it. Note: I only have about an inch of play on my gas pedal.
so the issue is no gas pedal play, and no gas to clear gas filter bowl. this engine runs fine and has been tuned. just something going on wrong w/ my linkage I think. i am thinking I hjave something wrong at the carb with these connections.
