The cotterkey idea is something I have never used, but I think it is a very good idea. In the past I have just used a small screwdriver and pushed the bearing as far as I could, then grabbed it with a pliers on the opposite side and pulled it the rest of the way out.
I also do not like working on F**ds. I think they make good enough products but they are very hard to work on, much harder than GM or Chrysler.
