The 848 head has the smallest cumbuston chamber and will raise the compression on the motor about .5:1. A '58 to '62 261 has a compression ratio of 8:1 by installing the 848 head you will achieve a ratio of approx. 8.5:1 (assuming the head has not been milled and stock pistons).
