Hi all, I'm slowly getting my 261 together, got some nos pistons. My machinist said that the wrist pins were too tight, but he has a different idea on how tight they should be than the manuals I read. Normally I don't mess with fitted pins but these being so old I think they pins tarnised and pistons oxidized making them too tight, had to tap them out. Anywho, he says they should be loose enought that the weight of the pin bouncing should allow it to slide out. Chilton's say's it should be a "two thumb push fit". Shop manual just say's push fit. My thoughts are you don't want it to gall or hang up and you need room for oil in there but thats just my guess. Any advice?
