I installed a pcv on the 216 about a year ago although I disconnected it a couple of months ago while I was doing other work on the 41. When I disconnected it I noticed that there is a bit of gunk going into the inlet manifold and therefore I'm looking to filter out some of it. When I hooked up the pcv I wanted to keep things as simple as possible so that there would be no hassles in going back to the stock set up if I didn't like the pcv. The engine has the original vented valve cover and road draft tube. I think that it was Yachtcare who gave me the idea to set it up the way I did. What I've done is fit a six inch length of hose over the road draft tube and secured that with hose clamps. On the bottom of the hose I've fitted a brass welsh plug that I drilled to accept a grommet and pcv from a mid sixties Holden inline six engine. A length of rubber fuel hose runs from the pcv to the fitting on the inlet manifold. It seems to work well with the advantage that it only takes about two minutes to disconnect everything if I want to. I was thinking of hooking up a cartridge type fuel filter to the line to filter out some of the gunk before it goes into the inlet manifold but was wondering if that would clog up fairly quickly. Any thoughts on that or if there is a better type of filter to use.
