For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,904 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,904 | Wow, a post from the past! Click on the web link in my signature below to see the too-expensive Moroso adapter that I put on.
I made the mistake of picking one which took Chev spin-on filters. (I didn't need no stinkin' F*** filter.) Those do not have by-pass valves. I should have gone with the adapter for F*** filters which, apparently, have the by-pass valves built in. I now have to use a more expensive filter designed for a Wisconsin engine.
Papa Ed, Sorry I didn't reply. I've had no problem with my hoses getting hot.
Kurt, I've seen a description of how to add a filter but I can't remember where (Jim Carter's web site?). If you can't find it, you might start a new thread with your question in the Title. Good luck!! 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.
