OK...I picked up a '56 Chevy 3600 LWB today. Yeah, I heard it running before the deal went down. Started easy and runs very smooth. The PO didn't recall what engine it is. The hood trim doesn't have the "V" on it, so I'm assuming it didn't come with a V8. Anyhow, the oil filter canister is on the left side if you are looking at the engine from the radiator and the starter is on the right. The water pump housing has a short hose routing the right head and another routing to the left one. It has a Rochester "2 Jet" carb and the air cleaner cover has a "dry element" sticker on it. I'll try to get some casting numbers tomorrow but was wondering if someone would know from that description. I'm in Reno and that's a bit higher than where it had been. It started a bit harder here and ran rougher and a LOT richer. This is my first TF truck and I'm looking forward to working on it.
