I resurrected a '54 from a field and she is running great. The only problem now is the brakes. I rebuilt the master and all wheel cylinders, replaced all shoes and turned the drums. Everything seemed to work fine for some time. Recently, the brakes seemed really tight. I only needed to push the pedal in less than 1 inch to engage them. It seemed that the rears were dragging. I adjusted them out again but after a little driving they were back in the same tight position. This is a 3/4 ton. Are these brakes self adjusting? How do I keep them from tightening up so much?
