You were talking about adding a sway bar to the rear not the front. Your right the frame on a 1/2 ton is about 11 inches wider than the 3/4. Don't let all that chrome and good looks confuse you; the ubolts etc. for the rear will fit unaversally so that won't be a problem for you. I drilled holes in the frame and bolted the bar up there. It works OK. I don't think you can bend the bars to fit. Check these pics...
