I have seen 2 orginal 1955.2nd series Chevrolet trucks with yellow 261 engines. One of them was a very low mileage farm truck that was purchased new by a friend of my fathers. They were the same color as the engine that is in the photos tclederman posted.
PS, I own the engine in the photos and the yellow is not a repaint.
