(55, 2nd series) I had to alter new latches so that the door would close...No idea why..but the existing latches didn't look like those in the manual either.There was a piece of steel that was too tall that had to be shortened. Now that they close there is about 1/4" play after they are fully closed. I suppose the rubber weatherstripping should work that out, pushing the slack out but is that how it's suppost to work? Or should it latch in one definite position with no play? There's no adjustment for that as far as I can see. Striker plates don't wear significantly do they?
