As it turns out, in this case I'm an idiot
. It was referring to the sway bar. The nomenclature will get ya' every time. Whenever I hear stabilizer I always think something other than "sway bar". Oh well, live and learn, right?
On the subject of steering stabilizers... My dad has a '63 K10 that had to have one installed on it. At the time the front suspension and steering components were all in great shape but you still couldn't drive the thing in a straight line past 45 mph because of the shimmy. The stabilizer eliminated that.
