I would just do the basic stuff first. Check for loose carb and distributor mounting bolts and for vacuum leaks. Make sure nothing is loose inside the distributor and it's holding its point gap. Make sure the vacuum advance is working properly, although it sounds like it is. Make sure there is no fuel line clogging as demand increases on reving. Just because the filter looks good doesn't mean something isn't plugging it somewhere else with tank sludge.
