Hy hb32,there were 3 or 4 different part numbers for V8 bellhousings from 55-59 3716597 was the first, 3776887 was the last which superseded 3742055 and 3742053. The newer ones bigbadswingdaddy mentioned have a larger hole for the throwout arm, as the newer arms were formed, and the early ones were cast or forged, and the 60 - 62 bellhousings may have the throwout arm hole on the right side rather than the left, for a hydraulic clutch setup.
