planning on making and attempt to make the flat bed on the 49 GMC 1/2 ton a light duty dump bed. I think I have found a 4-speed tranny with PTO out of a 56', and am lacking in general knowledge about what to hook up and bolt on and fabricate or buy from an old truck to make an operational dump bed. The size of the cylinder, the scissor bracing etc...probably needs to come from a fellow stovebolter with a junk truck. Just wanting any advice you have to offer! This site is great, you guys are great.
Also--if I added that in would I need to change driveshaft length? I forgot to think about that. And I guess that would involve the machine shop giving it the chop and welding it back wouldn't it?

Also--in 2004, I invented the spotting alert network in stovebolt after seeing so many trucks when driving around. So that means I am cool.
