Hi 3B, i'm going to post some photos of the truck as i found it, as i've pulled it apart, and to it's current stage of rebuilding. The engine that was in it had the spark plugs removed. This could have been for 20 years or more. i filled the bores with oil and was able to rock the crank free. however i don't wish to use this motor, as parts in Aus are hard to get and i would like a V8 again. I have a mate who runs a performance engine shop who can guide me along the way. i have rebuilt two car motors and a 4 stroke bike motor (4 cams was difficult)so i know a little.
I had no idea that steering modifications were in order to fit the V8. I believe i'm supposed to change the steering column to a collapseable version if i change the motor.
And spring down here is like summer. 30 deg C with afternoon thunderstorms
