Find a parts strore that handles Chelsea PTOs. A control cable for a PTO works perfectly. It will be long, so you can cut it to size. I've found that pretty much all of the cables normally available from the flaps are too flimsy and tend to bind up. Look to spend about $40 for a PTO cable, but they are well worth the cost to have trouble free operation.
