Hi all! My name is Gary and I just purchased a 46 1/2 ton project truck. It is more of a calboration of parts. The truck was originally a 1 1/2 ton (have title) but was set on a 53 chassis (I was told) with a 1975 Pacer front end with power rack and a Jeep Cherokee posi rear end and I have no idea what ratio. I haven't got that far yet. The cab is in pretty good shape which I believe is the original paint (black with orange interior) no other paint or primer under it. The hood is perfect along with the grill but needs replated. I got a ton of stuff with it including front and rear 1/2 ton fenders (the left front is really rough) and the 1 1/2 ton fenders which are really good and a set of 1/2 ton running boards but they need work as well. It also came with a lot of other stuff as well like 3 14" tires and 1 15" tire. I went to the salvage yard to pick up some more 15 and found a 46 1/2 ton frame for a hundred bucks. Now here's where it gets good I started mocking it up and the 53 frame is longer than the 46 and you can't find a rebuilt rack manual or power for the pacer front end. I found everything else ball joints, control arm bushings, calipers, rotors, bearings (it came with new rotors, brakes and calipers but are for a 79 and wont fit the 75) just my luck. Anyway I decided to use the 46 frame and started prepping it and ordered a TCI IFS for it. The 46 had some termites around the right side of the front spring hanger on the rear axle and the left side rear spring hanger on the rear axle. I've been debating on wether to cut out the rust and repair the 46 frame or cut the 53 frame in front of the spring hangers and weld that section on to the 46. Decisions, decisions. Whew thats alot for a new guy! Love this site! Thanks Gary
