Unless the tubes where the hoses are fastened are flatened out of shape its the heater core. They are not hard to remove on these old trucks. Remove the hoses & 3-4 nuts on long studs on the engine side & remove the heater after dissconnecting defroster hose & wire. Dissasemble the heater & remove the core. You can take it to a radiator shop & they might be able to fix it but most of the time it will need a new one.
