A couple other things to consider.....the 5 bolt diffs, such as the 3rd generation Camaro are 62" wide and make a great swap into the AD truck. Lower mileage, lower price, the emergency brake cables can be slightly modified to clamp to the stock emergency brake system, the swaybar setup is easily adapted and as you mentioned, the R&P ratios are numerous. You can get way from the pricey front tapered bearings which appear to be only available by mail-order for the 6 lug spindles.

However, when you switch to the 5 from 6 lug setup you're more than likely going to be springing for aftermarket rims. Rarely, if ever, will you find a salvage yard rim with the correct backspacing, let alone 4 matching that you like, to replace the 6 lug pattern.

If you're planning on springing for new rims from the start, then the 5 lug conversion is a viable option. However, if you're planning on saving some money on the 5 lug setup it will more than likely be spent on new rims. If you decide to keep your 6 lug pattern and use the stock rims you need to determine if they will work on a disc brake setup.

Once again, planning each complete system in your build will help you avoid costly "adjustments" to get your ride on the road.
