I was at an Advance Auto parts store the other day and they had a display that might help you. It was an audio center where you could push a button and hear how an engine sounded with the 6 different aftermarket mufflers they carry. It helped me quite a bit in selecting the correct muffler for my 66. The right sound sure makes a difference.
