It should have about 1/2 in free play. The rod is adjustable into the clevis after you loosen the lock nut. The adjustment for the master cyl. doesnt change much. It should have just a tiny bit of play till it starts pushing on the piston. If these are correct & its still not right, its a good idea to put kits in the cyls. They are real easy to do. You can get a hone for less then $10 at the discount tool shop. These cyl bores are usually in good condition because they operate at full stroke & dont get a chance for corrosion to build up.
