Hello all,
I joined the older chevy truck world in a double way
1 - a 1955 stepside sidemount spare 2nd series 3200 with 265 & three on tree - original and not in terrible shape - motor runs fine some smoke - hadn't ran in 2 years or driven in 7 - needed carb kit, fuel pump and all new brakes - it doesn't have a oil filter - is this a big item or just need to change oil more often - I'm going to change all fluids - water, oil, trans, rear end, brake and put truck back on road somewhat limited of course.
2 - a 1966 stepside sidemount spare which is in much worse shape body wise - quite a bit of rust but truck runs - v8 not original, 3spd with floor shift and non stock wheels & tires.
Is either of these trucks very rare?
Am I crazy to put a cheap paint job on the 55 and drive, show and not worry about having to keep the body perfect? Any help or ideas appreciated.
