Glad I saw this thread 'cause I had a question about the shocks on my '50 half ton. Pulled the bed out in preparation for new bed wood and took a good look at the shocks. I swear they look like they could have been the original shocks!! Rusted holes in the top of one of them, rust on the nuts, etc. Anyway, I decided that I want to replace them with new ones. Like most of the time when I go to the parts store for a part none of the books go back as far as our AD's, so can anyone tell me if there is a specific shock brand and reorder # for my '50 or will I have to substitute something close? I know Monroe is a good brand....any others??
