Yes; you will see the same thing with some of the early hotrods, where the trans interferes with the MC and booster.
There are some other options for boosters besides vacuum type. Do a search on some of the hotrod sites and you will get some ideas.
Basically though, you just need to move it straight back until it clears and build a mount for it.
