I don't know if this would work for your application or not but I had my '99 S-10 vandalized with spray paint on the tail gate. I used nail polish remover on a soft cloth. Rubbed it on very gently and it got the spray paint off but didn't do anything to the finish. I then washed the entire area with soap and water to get any residue off.
