I have and I'am working with 3 count'um three service books/manuals for my 1951 GMC 3/4 ton pickup,The 1947-1954 models 100 thtru 400 GMC maintenance manual,a reprint from jim carter which I'am told is realy a 1954 manual and will be of little use to me,but it has come in handy! A 1947-1954 truck factory assembly manual also from Jim and a reprint and the most valuble and most often referenced book I've got.And a booklet Servicing chevrolet "truck cabs" 1947- 1948 also a reprint. If any of the fellow stovebolters have or are familiar with these books, please help!! Go to page 17 of the cab service booklet and see how the remote control rod is in the channel and flush for the the door panel and mounted at the bottom of the handle pivot. Now go to the factory assembly manual to sectoin 1 sheet 1.05 and 1.06 and see how the remote control rod over laps the channel out of the channel and is mounted at the top of the handle pivot! This is the same way its shown in the GMC manintence manual on page 85. Which is right? and why? I did'nt have the luxury of taking this apart. I have the pull down handles not the push button type.I know this should be simple!Could one of you guys roll me down the driveway and pop the clutch on my brain so at least I'am running. Thanks
