My dad and I used to have a '42 Chevy military 1 1/2 ton 4x4, and it had a manual transmission (engine and transmission were out of a '52 GMC 6x6, but the original driveline was included, and it was also manual). Don't remember what kind of transfer case was in there, but it had some enormous knuckles on the front axle.
