Quite a few years ago I was driving along in my '58 and suddenly the front end began shaking so violently I thought the truck was going to tear itself apart. I would stop and start again and everything would be fine until I got up to about 45 mph. When I got home I looked at the front end and noticed that one of my upper shock mounts had broken. I replaced it and never had the problem again. Just a thought.
