The filter was soaked again overnite and still wouldn't budge, so after a few hefty whacks it finally came loose. The gasket was completely gone and filter seized to the fitting. But after cleaning I think it is still usable. As for the air filter stud, threaded rod is a good idea as soon as I get an air cleaner cleaner to size it up. Was the original for the 230 an oil bath type? Thanks again, Brett
