#49562 08/30/2005 1:23 AM | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 452 Member | | Member Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 452 | I think the only 3-speeds used on the trucks around '60-'61 (the date of the tranny) were the Saginaws, either the heavy-duty or overdrive. If you can find the serial number stamped on the left side of the case at the rear of the side cover (may have to do some cleaning to find it), this can be verified. If the number starts with S, it is a Saginaw.
