I have had Dot 5 fluid in my 37 pickup truck since 1980. I have recently upgraded to a dual master cylinder. I've had no problems. I know several other locals who have used Dot 5....no problems. I've read about problems, but I'm about to conclude that most of the writing about Dot 5 being bad is writing about Dot 5 being bad. I love it! Clean, no mosture content, easy to use, will not remove paint from other truck parts. True, you do not want to get it on a part you later wish to paint. Paint won't stick to silicone.
