I think you will find that the T5 is longer than your existing trans which means that if there was an adaptor to your torque tube, the torque tube would be too long and need to be shortened.
It would be easier to get yourself the center pumpkin out of a 55 or later truck. It will bolt up to your orig. axel. Then you can go to an open drive line. This is thr route I took on my 46. It work very good. You will like the T5
