Could you share with us just what we are looking at "casting the knobs". Are those RTV molds that you made? Do you somehow mount a crew in the new knobs? What are your new knobs made of?
For those of you that have read Denny's description, the radio has a variable capacitor for tuning with string connecting the tuning knob, the capacitor and dial pointer together. This is typical of auto radios around the early forties. After that they switched to ferrite slugs moving in and out of tuning coils. Table radios continued with the old arrangement for the duration of the tube era.
