The Borg-Warner overdrive units are a very good solution to better highway gears. A bolt in replacement for the 3 speed transmission, with added cable control and a wire to the solenoid that can be controlled by a switch. I have done several of these conversions, and I'm getting ready to put one in my 1954 GMC. I highly recommend using one of these in a Stovebolt. The way to see if the unit is O.K. is to pull the shift cover and look at the gears, then move the shift lever of the o.d. to check for operation. Good luck!
