I eventually want to put a 235 inline six in place of the old babbit pounder 216. I have located an excellent 235 from a 1962 Chevy 1/2 ton donor. The eventual tranny will be a Saginaw cast iron 4 speed. My question is about the bell housing currently in the 1962 donor. It is for a hydraulic/slave cylinder style clutch with the clutch fork mechanism on the passenger side. Is this compatible with the Saginaw and /or is it desirable at all? Should I take the bell housing as well? Any replies are welcome. 46Possum | | |
