Info: full pressure 235 with adaptor plate and 1954 216 water pump instead of short water pump, T-5, 3.42 rear end

I went to the local salvage yard and raided a 1941-1946 big bolt for heavy duty (3" instead of stock 2") radiator. I also got the water pump because I wanted the six blade fan.

I cannot get the fan off the pump. There is a large thick bushing on the shaft in front of the fan. Is it supposed to be part of the fan or a separate piece?

With the four bolts out of the pulley I can rotate the fan but the bushing stays tight with the shaft. I removed the back plate from the water pump but I cannot drive the shaft out of the fan/bushing with a punch. Any ideas?

Also, the master parts catalog says that the six blade fan is "for low speed operation". I assumed that the six blade would be better than the four blade. Maybe I shouldn't use the six blade for a half ton. Any ideas?
