I don't know about scrap iron prices on a Pacific Island, but on the mainland scrap prices have spiraled to almost nothing. Anyone who threatens to scrap is blowing 6 month old smoke. Unless you really "need" some little item to finish a project, just be patient and you will find some bargains. Our economy is spiraling down faster than anyone who can still twist wrenches can remember.
