| | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 | I believe they started welding the cross sill in '51 mid-year to fix a problem with the bed sides shifting in or out at the top over time. My '50 bed has two tack welds there in addition to bolts but I'm not sure if its ever been taken apart or not.
