The only way to tell for sure is to remove the radio and test it on the bench. There is a tech tip on this. However if you want to try something right away, here is something you can do. Unplug th antenna and insert the bared end of a length of hookup wire into the tiny hole in the antenna socket. If you get some reception with that arrangement, you have an antenna problem.
